She obtained a first-degree and second-degree specialization at the faculty and the Clinic of Eye Illnesses from the Medical University of Gdańsk. Further scientific achievements are:
- Diploma of MD, PhD based on the dissertation titled: "Effect of chlormadinone on the retina in female white rats" in 1979
- The title of habilitated doctor based on the habilitation dissertation - "Effect of anti-Rh antibodies on the resorption of blood in the vitreous body" in 1992.

- Since 1976 she has been working in at the Faculty and Ophthalmology Clinic of the Medical University of Gdańsk, where she has consequently held the positions of: 1976-1979 - senior assistant, 1979-1993 – assistant professor, 1993-2004 – Ophthalmology Clinic deputy manager. Since 2005 she has been the head of the Faculty and Ophthalmology Clinic of Medical University of Gdansk.
